Aquatic Therapy

If you have pain that makes it difficult to stretch and exercise, consider aquatic therapy at Caldwell UNC Health Care’s Quest4Life Wellness Center. Take advantage of warm water therapy programs for people of all ages and abilities.

How Aquatic Therapy Helps You

Water-based therapy provides a unique environment for physical rehabilitation. In water, you feel lighter and enjoy less stress on your body. When you’re recovering from an injury or illness, aquatic therapy allows you to do exercises that may be too difficult or painful on land.

Tailored Water Exercise Plans

Rely on your skilled physical therapist at Caldwell UNC to choose the most beneficial exercises for your condition. You’ll receive instruction and close supervision throughout your therapy program. Aquatic therapy sessions take place in three to five feet of water. That means you don’t have to know how to swim to participate.

Gentle, Strengthening Therapy

Enjoy comfortable 88-degree water in our indoor therapy pool to help relieve pain and improve your motion and function. Expect to increase your exercise tolerance as your aquatic therapy progresses. Gains in body strength and flexibility from therapeutic water exercises help support your overall recovery and ability to walk and do weight-bearing activities.
