Jonas Hill Hospital

Jonas Hill Hospital sits on Caldwell Memorial Hospital's main campus in Lenoir, NC. The unit has 27 beds and offers adult inpatient psychiatric hospitalization to patients ages 18 to 64. The facility was designed with healing in mind. It features a unique, open concept design with high ceilings and barrier-free spaces. The goal of Jonas Hill Hospital is to encourage interaction between patients and staff. Whether an individual is in crisis or wants to improve skills to manage everyday life, Jonas Hill Hospital can help meet the need.

Safety and Security

The safety of our patients and staff is our top priority. We provide a secure, nurturing environment that respects the well-being of everyone that occupies the space. Common areas throughout the unit are monitored by video to ensure security for patients and others. Special care is taken to protect our patients' privacy during examination and treatment. The inpatient unit contains 13 private and 7 semi-private rooms. Each room is designed with the patient's safety in mind. All furniture and utilities are designed to prevent harm to self or others.

We accept most insurances that provide for behavioral health service coverages.

For inpatient hospitalization Jonas Hill will accept insurance:

• Which offers benefit coverage that includes behavioral health services.
• Jonas Hill will verify and secure authorization for services while at the inpatient facility.

For Medical Professionals

Emergency room providers, social workers and other medical professionals can refer patients to our hospital unit by contacting our intake department at 828-394-6728 or 828-394-6722 (during evening and weekend hours). Following your referral we will provide you with patient status updates and support from initial contact to discharge. 

All admissions must go through our intake team. The staff member on duty will provide all necessary information for admission, or resources for outpatient care if short-term hospitalization is not recommended. To be admitted, patients must be medically stable.
