Exercise and Neck Support Can Improve Neck Pain

Most of the time, a stiff neck gets better on its own. But chronic soreness that lasts two months or longer may need treatment. A 12-week study of 151 men and women found one combination strategy that helped chronic neck pain: exercising to improve neck strength and sleeping with a contoured neck pillow. The exercises were performed twice daily for five to 10 minutes. Participants who exercised and used the neck pillow saw their pain gradually fade.
