The Fiber-Fit Connection

Folks who eat more fiber tend to have less fat than people who don’t eat as much fiber. Normal-weight adults in one study ate about 33% more fiber each day than overweight adults. Fiber can help people feel full so they don’t overeat. It also helps slow digestion. The recommended daily allowance of dietary fiber for women is 21 to 25 grams and 30 to 38 grams for men.
